Clinical Services:
Individual Psychotherapy

Therapeutic approach:

As a dedicated Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I specialize in helping individuals identify and change their unhelpful thoughts and behaviors to improve emotional well-being. Using a compassionate, person-centered, and evidence-based approach, I work with clients through the process of challenging negative thought patterns and replacing them with healthier alternatives. I also focus on changing unhelpful behaviors that result in negative outcomes. I think about well-being through a biological, psychological, social, structural, and cultural lens. In addition to providing CBT-based psychotherapy, I also utilize motivational interviewing, acceptance-based skills, mindfulness, relaxation, and communication skills to provide you with an individually tailored approach based on your needs and preferences.

Although I have experience treating a wide variety of presenting problems,
I specialize in the following areas:

  • Behavioral Medicine and coping with chronic illnesses, injuries, and diseases (click here for more info)

  • Depression

  • Anxiety (including social anxiety and specific phobias)

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Alcohol and substance use

I also work with patients with the following psychological difficulties:

  • ADHD

  • Dual Diagnosis

  • Grief

  • Men's Issues

  • Relationship Issues

  • Sexual Abuse

  • Sleep or Insomnia

  • Stress Management

What to expect:

Diagnostic Assessment: We’ll start with a comprehensive assessment to understand your specific challenges. These assessments typically take up to 90 minutes. In the initial appointment, I conduct a thorough assessment and ask questions to better understand you, your experiences, and the biological, psychological, social, and structural factors that are affecting your well-being. And, I will listen deeply to your answers. This first appointment will likely be different than most therapy visits you've had in the past.

Customized Treatment: Together, we will develop a treatment plan that will help you learn and use personalized strategies using evidence-based CBT techniques. This is your therapy and I want to ensure we are working toward your goals.

Skill Building: You will learn practical skills to challenge negative and unhelpful thoughts, change behaviors, and by doing so, improve your emotional and overall well-being.

Supportive Environment: I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for exploration and growth, and provide affirmative care to individuals of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, cultures, and religions.

Details and fees:

I provide telehealth service and all sessions will be conducted via a secure videoconferencing platform.

Though I am not in-network with any insurance providers, I offer super bills at the end of each month, which patients can submit to their insurance companies for partial reimbursement.

Research shows that therapeutic change occurs when individuals engage in therapy regularly. As such, we will do our best to meet weekly.

Weekly therapy sessions are 50 minutes ($275 per session).

Diagnostic assessments (sometimes referred to as intake sessions) typically last up to 90 minutes ($425 for the initial assessment).

There is no charge for a 15-minute consultation call to determine if I am the right therapist for you. Please feel free to contact me or email me to schedule a consultation call. I believe that therapy works best when the therapeutic alliance is strong and people seeking a therapist (whether it is me or someone else) should feel empowered to find the right fit. If you think I am not the right fit, I would be happy to refer you to one of my talented colleagues.
